Discovery, for the purposes of this paper, can be defined as “the process in a litigation or regulatory matter where the parties identify and exchange information and records that are relevant to the issues of the matter.”
Electronic discovery, or e-discovery as it is more commonly referred to, is the combination of traditional discovery practices with computer technology. It involves identifying and exchanging information and records that may be stored in digital form on computers, smartphones, etc.
